Named after the ancient Greek word for a female dragon 'drakaina' this plant is popular because of its grass like appearance and easy-going nature. Dracaena come in a variety of different colours and leaf shapes, you may be most familiar with their mature appearance of a woody stem tipped with long, thin green leaves.
Care:
Light: Bright, indirect to medium light. Be careful of direct light which can cause burns to the leaves.
Water: Allow the soil to dry out between waterings, these plants are sensitive to overwatering which can cause root rot.
Food: Feed monthly during the growing season but not during the winter.
Humidity: Tolerate normal home humidity, but is appreciative of higher humidity.
